APPLICATION PROCESS: WHAT TO EXPECT

We are delighted that you’re considering African School for Excellence as your child’s High School for 2017. Our simple application process makes it easy for you to enrol your child at ASE, bringing you one step closer to giving them a world-class education and a brighter future! Spaces are available from grade 8, and are filling up fast. Sign your child up today to secure their spot!

Complete this application form. Gather the required supporting documents as specified below: Copy of Scholar’s birth certificate Copy of primary parent or guardian’s ID document / passport Copy of Scholar’s most recent school report Transfer card from current school (if available) Submit your application form with supporting documents in one of the following ways: Email us: applications@ase.org.za Drop off at our office: 20 Kruger Street, The Main Change, The Open, Maboneng (Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm) You will receive confirmation via SMS and/or email after we receive your application. Please contact the Applications Office only if you do not receive a confirmation message within one week. Please keep a full copy of all application materials for reference.
We will contact you to set up a time to meet with you and your child, to have a conversation. This is for you to learn more about ASE, and is your time to ask as many questions as you wish to become comfortable with what ASE has to offer. It is also a chance for us to get to know you better.
You will be informed of the outcome of your application within 1 week of the interview. Should your application be successful, you will be provided with an offer of acceptance and a space will be provisionally reserved for your child at ASE. By this stage, you will have been notified by the ASE Foundation as to whether you are eligible for a scholarship.
Enrolment is confirmed upon payment of the registration fee, and completion of the Parent Contract. Registration fee will be equal to 1 month of school fees (which will vary based on scholarship allocation), and will be a forward payment of the first month of school fees should your child’s enrolment at ASE be confirmed. Once ASE has confirmed your child’s enrolment, you will be provided with a Welcome Pack outlining what to expect for the year ahead.

If you are concerned that you cannot afford our school fees, we would like to help you in any way that we can. Scholarships are available via the ASE Foundation and are granted based on your ability to pay school fees, as well as the funds available in the Foundation. Scholarships are not dependent on the academic performance of your child. If you are unable to afford the full school fees, you may be eligible for a scholarship. Please indicate that you are interested in applying for a scholarship in the application process.

Application Dates

Spaces at ASE are granted on a first-come first-served basis, and cannot be guaranteed if our schools are full. Please ensure that you submit your application early in order to avoid disappointment.

Round 1 deadline 24 June 2016 **SPECIAL OFFER:

Apply before 24 June and receive guaranteed placement in ASE’s signature Accelerate holiday programme, free of charge. This 3 week programme has delivered proven results to date and is designed to boost your child’s Maths & English performance, as well as their self-confidence. Hosted by ASE with South Africa’s top teachers and held over the June / July school holidays.

Round 2:

Deadline 30 September 2016 Spaces are limited. Apply before final deadline to secure your space.

Final deadline:

15 November 2016 Given limited scholarship availability, scholars applying in the final round are unlikely to be considered for scholarship.
